ABOUT the ARTIST
Chicago born self-taught artist Tamu Ngina has been painting since age three and has been a professional artist since 1998. Her art is in private & corporate collections throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Canada, Germany, Denmark, South Afrika, and Israel. Her art has been on display at the Open Space Gallery, the New Arts Program, and currently at Hang Ups..
Ms. Ngina’s art has been published on greeting cards, calendars, magazines and book covers. Featured in Generation J Online Gallery, Bridges Jewish Feminist Journal, & UF Hillel Foundation brochure, among other publications.
Major influences are Chagall, Pousette-Dart, Kandinsky and Klee, O’Keefe, and Kahlo. Driven to experiement with fluid geometric forms and bold colours.
